Attention all aspiring writers! Once again here is your chance to enter this annual short story competition. There are 3 sections open in 2008, so get writing, enter and potentially you could win up to $2000 in prize money. Hurry, entries close soon.

Entries for the 2008 Alan Marshall Short Story Award close at 4pm Friday 22 February 2008.

There are three sections in the 2008 Award:
(1) the Open Section with a $2000 first prize and $1000 second prize for stories up to 2500 words by writers who reside in Australia
(2) the Local Writers' Section with a $1000 prize for a story up to 2500 words by a writer who lives, works or studies in the Shire of Nillumbik
(3) the Young Writers' Section with a $400 prize for a story up to 1000 words by a writer aged between 15 and 19 years who resides anywhere in Australia
