What's happening with us, and a helpful writing hint ...

Ok Ladies and Gentlemen ...

First and foremost, more than anything this week, we are wanting your submissions. More than Britney to make a comeback, more than the local coffee girl to stop burning the coffee, more than JK Rowling to make a snap decision to write an 8th installment ... we are desperate for the good, the bad, the ugly - throw them our way and let our editors go at them. At the very least you will get comprehensive feedback and if we love it that much we just have to put it up on the site (which, trust me, we probably will) then you'll get the feedback of fellow writers, the most valuable kind (potentially, anyway).

Word of the Week is ... DRUNK

Short fiction, poetry, short stories, snapshots of scenery, dialogue, a personal experience ... use the word as a trigger. Aim for 700 or so words and see what you come up with. Don't delete as you write, that is a surefire creativity killer, do set yourself a 10 minute time limit and, at the end of it all, take a deep breath and click submit. That is what Vibewire is allĀ about.

Round Up

A new Round Up is in your sub-heading now, our Fiction editor has done a thorough check up of all that is happening country-wide, from festivals to call outs to competitions. If anything has been missed out, or you have something to share with everyone, please get in touch, so we can put it up in the next one.

Reasons to Stay Tuned ...

Some new, fantastic work went up last week - please take the time to check it out and comment. Stay tuned for a possible competition, specific to us creative writers, happening in the not too distant future. Also, we have E Festival just around the corner, which will directly involve all sections of Vibewire and thus all our lovely users. More on that to come.

Have a fantastic week and, before we go, here is something to write on a post it and stick about your laptop ...

Helpful (and quick) Writing Hint ...

When constructing your characters, as a writer, remember that all actions given to your characters should be densely informative.

Much love,
