Two with breakfast, ten by bed;
Corrective capsules for my head,
They keep my rampant thoughts in line,
God bless this substance of our time.

We drink from evenings start till end,
‘Dutch courage’ while our hearts do mend,
This alcohol we love yet loathe;
In substance times we are betrothed.

A friend to few and foe to many,
An aid, or accomplice to any?
That clears our heart yet clouds our mind;
This fair green substance of our time.

In cellar labs and broken homes,
Rogue pharmacists we do condone,
Those needles, vials, powdered palms;
In substance times cause no alarm.

These minds we force and Augmentate
For task and trial we bid not wait,
Suffixed Canaries lost in mines;
We are the substance of our times.
