Job Description

National youth media organisation Vibewire, the people behind www.vibewire.net , Reelife Short Film Festival, sQuareOne media and arts space, electionTracker and Interface Anthology are excited to offer this opportunity for someone with a passion for independent youth media and arts to join the vibewire.net team.

Vibewire's goal is to create opportunities for younger Australians 15-30 to express themselves on the issues and cultures they care about. All our projects are based on the importance of creating spaces and platforms for diverse young people to tell their stories, share their perspectives and create independent and non-commercial culture.

Vibewire.net needs new editors in the Create and Pulse sections. We are looking for motivated people with some editing and writing experience to come on board and join our team. As a vibewire.net editor you'll be responsible for many different aspects of the website – from communicating with and supporting writers, to conceiving new project ideas and strategies for your section and making them happen; from ensuring all published content meets the accepted standard, to working out the best ways to promote the section to both readers and writers. You will also be expected to contribute ideas and feedback on projects across the organisation on the website articles, blogs and forums.

A vibewire.net editor will work closely with the content coordinator and other editors contributing to the vibewire.net team on showcasing Australia's youth's writing. You will have the opportunity to contribute to and develop your editorial, online and project management skills and will gain an insight into the day-to-day operations and growth strategy of a youth-led non-profit media and arts organisation.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and passionate, able to work both independently and in a team and is keen to make a difference in the youth media and arts while developing your own skills and contacts to join our team.
