Is this the truth?

Or is it merely a phrase

Flung about like an elastic band

Is this emotion deeply etched

Into our inner core

Or does it narrowly skim the surface?

The ‘One’

Like a money back guarantee

A business deal with the media

Previous to motion pictures

Was there the ‘One’?

I will remember next time

To question Grandma.

Perhaps there was less infidelity

In the olden days

There was no bombardment

Of propaganda

Now we’re products of consumerism

I sold my soul on E-Bay

Why have ‘One’

When you can have five?

‘Satisfaction’ has been erased

From the Oxford dictionary

‘Love’ has been replaced

With ‘Lust’

Hold that thought...
