The second full-length release from this Melbourne singer songwriter is strikingly honest lyrically, and a truly delightful listen. By Leah Markis.

Emily eerily sounds like Sinead O’Connor. Luckily it’s only a little bit because she is so much more joyful to listen to. So many words come to mind. Lush. Organic. Ethereal. Comforting. Soothing. This is what I’d want to hear on my iPod if I was gliding along on a smooth country train ride. Steady as she goes, no interruptions, except for some strange sounding creeping keys like in the track ‘8th Wonder’.

Emily is a gifted songwriter who is honest and fresh. No doubt this is what attracts such a bevy of musicians in lending a hand on this gorgeous album. Conrad Standish (Devastations), and Augie March's Glenn Richards and Adam Donovan turn up on a few tracks.  In fact the album was co-produced and engineered by Adam Donovan at his new studios in Nagambie, Second World, minus one track.

Inquisitive by nature her lyrics ask all of the many questions to ex-boyfriends, to the universe and to herself. Sometimes Emily answers her own questions and sometimes, well, they go unanswered. Like some of life’s bigger questions. True to herself and true to her emotions and to her spirit.

Depressed? She’ll perk you up. Happy?  She’ll have you reflecting and smiling at

those significant bright moments you have in your memory bank.

I can listen to this album like Tim Buckley’s ‘Starsailor.’  Like, all the time.
