Here is your chance to win $5000 and an amazing trip to the top newsrooms of London, Washington and New York... If you are aged 26 or under and have you a winning piece of journalism under your belt from the past year then send it in!

This inaugural award is presented by the Walkley Foundation and the Media Entertainment & Arts Alliance.
 
Competition Guidelines:

There are five categories: print, television, radio, online and photography.

Three finalists in each category will be shortlisted by judges and finally one category winner will be chosen.  Members of the Walkley Advisory Board will judge these category winners to select the Young Australian Journalist of the Year.

Winners will be announced at a special event in Sydney in July.

All Australian journalists aged 26 or younger (on March 14), full-time or freelance. Final year university students are also eligible. But your work must have been published or broadcast through Australian media outlets between 15 March 2007 and 14 March 2008.
